2017 Stretching Streak
What a crazy week! First off, let me jump in and say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who came out to our art exhibit and fundraiser at Brooklyn Boulders. We sold out, packed in 100 people, and raised over $2,000 for various non-profits. You guys are the best!
Now, let's talk running. I have always wanted to participate in a 365 day running steak, but my injuries would never let me. So, in the name of recovery, I've decided to adopt my own version of the #RWRunStreak by starting a #StretchStreak! That's right. Stretching. Every. Day. Challenging myself to prevent injuries... this should be interesting!
It is my firm belief that being able to do a split is a superpower up there with invisibility. It would also be pretty cool to straighten my arms next to my ears, but let's not get ahead of ourselves. The goal, as with any streak, is to make it a habit. Like brushing your teeth. I can brush my teeth, I can stretch. You get the idea.
Who knows, maybe by the end of this year I'll be a splitting superwoman!

Stretch to: Running on Om. Yoga isn't really my jam- and that's why I like this podcast. It takes the mindfulness of yoga and applies it to running, while interviewing some of my favorite runners like Lauren Fleshman and Alexi Pappas.
Stretch with: A buddy or your iPhone (because if you didn't hashtag it, did it ever happen?)
Stretch using: Anything! That's why streaks are awesome. It isn't about how long you do it, it is just about doing it. If I'm feeling serious, I'll get on a yoga mat and pull out the foam roller. Other times, I'm doing it with a glass of wine in my hand and eyes firmly planted on The Bachelor. Real life.
