A smooth 3 hour train ride from NYC, The Block Island Ferry offers a quick hop over to the island and departs from these locations:

Block Island is a walkable, bikable island. We recommend taking taxis as needed, but if you require your car make sure to reserve your car ferry ahead of time as they go quick.

fun stuff to do during your stay

Our family has been sailing to Block Island for a long time. Here are our favorite things to do and fun places to visit:

• Grab a beer, hit the sand, and watch some live music at Ballards
• Hunt for beach glass and go fishing on Coast Guard Beach
• Walk the marinas and grab some grub at The Oar
• Shop downtown and grab an ice cream
• Go horseback riding on the beach

Block Island is more than its crazy downtown- rent a moped or bike around the island to see its nature, beauty, and tranquility.
